NOTICE: Beware of scams!

Like most online forums, BRIC’s Contemporary Artist Registry is susceptible to internet scams, particularly in which strangers contact artists under the false pretense of being interested in purchasing a work of art. BRIC is continually working with developers to make our Registry as safe as possible, and to make the user experience as positive as possible. Please be aware of scams, protect yourself, and use caution when contacted though the BRIC Contemporary Artist Registry.

Helpful tips to avoid getting scammed:

  • Deal locally with people you can meet in person.
  • Never wire funds via Western Union, Moneygram or other services.
  • Beware of fake cashier checks and money orders – banks will hold you responsible if discovered weeks later.
  • BRIC is not involved in any transaction and does not handle payments, so look out for this claim.
  • Never give out financial information, including bank account number, social security number, eBay/PayPal info, etc.
  • Avoid deals involving shipping or escrow services.

If you suspect you have been contacted through the BRIC Contemporary Artist Registry as part of a scam, please contact us at: registry@BRICartsmedia.org
