Neighborhood: Kensington

Media:Painting;

ARTIST STATEMENT: I create abstract paintings using marks made by unconventional art making tools like remote control cars, GPS tracking, koosh balls, strings, etc. My first solo show of works made in this way titled "Remote Control" was at Roebling Hall Gallery, Brooklyn in 1999. In addition to my studio painting practice I have created several public and collaborative works including a 13x66 foot mural based on GPS tracks on Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn commissioned by the Brooklyn Navy Yard; a collaborative public painting project on the Coney Island boardwalk where the public was invited to make large abstract paintings; and a collaborative project with international artists in Singapore where a team of artists painted a new Volvo. My works vary in scale from mural size to smaller more intimate paintings on canvas.
