ARTIST STATEMENT: I work in the printmaking technique of intaglio in which lines and tones are etched below the surface of the plate. I use the processes of hard ground line etching, aquatint and soft ground. The colors are an integral aspect of the print: the plates are inked " a la poupee" i.e. colors are applied and wiped in specific areas. Often two plates are used. Editions are usually 50, hand-pulled by the artist.
