ARTIST STATEMENT: My work attempts to capture emotions that are often felt but never seen or noticed. I am concerned with the intimate and immediate relationships between people, environments, as well as internal conflicts. Longing and detachment are recurring themes that contaminate otherwise peaceful scenes. Snapshots of everyday life become a starting point for my imagery. From that moment on, everything that either comes to existence or is destroyed within the frame becomes a real and tangible part of that memory. Through this manipulation, my goal is to translate these unseen feelings as accurately as I can into something visible.
