King Yan Fina Fina Yeung
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Bushwick

ARTIST STATEMENT: My work examines emotional identity in a city and the idea of living space as an “urban cage”. I work with mixed media painting, photography and installation. I use cardboard and paper to construct shapes that give forms to my emotional relationship with urban living. In addition to the cardboard installation, I experiment on making films that examine the identity of immigrants living in a western society. Through a short film, The Punk, Snow White and the Bitch, I use symbolic characters and objects to represent shifting perspectives of urban alienation.
