ARTIST STATEMENT: I am both a dancer and a photographer.
I started photography and dancing during the same period of time.
My photographic work and my dancing work have greatly influenced each other.
When I dance I can improvise an expression of the emotions that I feel, my own femininity and my spirit, just as they are.
You could say that dancing is the same to me as my life and living.
I am especially attracted to innocently dancing in the middle of nature and at such times I get a lot of inspiration.
Once while I was dancing I could sense the rhythm, feelings and pulse of the plants
and that was when I started to feel that plants are also dancing and living together with us.
From that time I started the production of my group of photographic works with the theme of gthe dance of the plants.h
I use a technique called multiple exposure to express the delicate feelings of the plants and their intense movement and silence.
Without using any composite photography techniques at all, I release the shutter whenever I feel inspired to do so,sometimes when walking,
sometimes when dancing, so it is just like blending in with nature.
I take photographs of the images floating in my mind (images of the plants dancing) by feeling my emotions
and thoughts together with the emotions, breathing and pulse of the plants throughout my whole body.
By laying the exposures one on top of another many times, they are still photographs but an image crossing my mind,
gthe dance of the plants,h appears, something like an abstract painting or something just like I may have seen in a dream before.
And my spirit is connected by dancing to the strong and delicate spirits of the plants and I feel the sensation overflowing now.
My work expresses the concept: gtrees, flowers and myself, we are all alive while dancing together.h
