I make work that tries to reflect the complex relationship that humans have to nature, both
perilous and beautiful, and contradictory as we struggle to see ourselves as animals who have a
tenuous relationship to life as do all animals.
I shred and create with promotional mail from government, social justice, cultural and
political institutions and consumerist advertising - reinforcing the unsettling fact that beliefs,
behaviors, values and goals are commodities.
I love saturated colors, influenced by the boldness of Matisse as well as contemporaries like Frank
Stella. The purpose for me currently is total immersion allowing even conflicting and contrasting
