I am a self-taught artist who has dedicated their work to exploring the toxic love affair between
past and present. My central material in concept and in practice is time, used to investigate the
binary system of being and non-being.
My recent works are photographic prints made from digital captures of real objects that
are combined with spaces I draw, paint, and assemble. Photographing the construct is a way for me
to memorialize and fix how the whole is to be seen.
I work in ongoing series, developing ideas that have held my interest over many years.
Medium and style vary, contingent upon theme. I work in response to nature, language,
literature, dreams, silence, humor and paradox.
Work includes oil and sculpture; themes gravitate toward landscapes, nature and natural
phenomena. Recent work: "Bewilderness", an outdoor art installation in a pine forest which focuses
on the tree as metaphor for non-human "other".
