I create renditions of fantasy trees, stylized nudes, birds and other subject matter, that capture my imagination. Most of my artwork is small in size.
My "almost daily" blog is here: http://ninakuriloff.blogspot.com
I am painting the body as vehicle, simple forms with wings or wheels traveling precariously through their environment finding chance encounters, missed connections and always the uncertainty of any rest or arrival.
Intaglios, collagraphs, monotypes printed on delicate Japanese papers, collaged over my own artist-
made papers are one aspect of my work; there are also mixed-media collages using colored pencils
over colored inks, and other materials.
Most of my photography relates to nature, though recently I began a city series. I'm interested in
what's hidden, lost or overlooked. What people take for granted, what forms the background of
other photos, is often the subject of mine.
