Micheline Gingras
Brooklyn, NY

ARTIST STATEMENT: Politics have never really been a specific interest of mine but in the last year given the state of this country in relation to two wars and an economic meltdown, I felt very anxious. I decided to return to collage and create theatrical tableaux illustrating the “overload” of my fears. Utilizing full-page images from the New York Times of politicians and movie advertisements, I over-painted the images to create a unified whole.
