Jasmine L Murrell
brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Bedford-Stuyvesant

ARTIST STATEMENT: I typically develop a body of work as a series around one idea, my most common thematic interest being transformation and rebirth. Organic forms and repetitive patterns found in nature and objects that invoke memories, stories, and histories are my greatest sources of inspiration. By recognizing my personal obsession with transformation and resurrection I hope to examine the separation between the human desire to rebuild with the inevitability of abandonment and decay.
