Cheryl L. Parry
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Prospect Heights

ARTIST STATEMENT: If Art functions as a form of transformation, it is important for the artist to speak for him or herself and for others within the community of all living things: to remind us of our connectedness and what could become lost. The poet Czeslaw Milosz spoke of openness to what is ordinary and right in front of us and to the idea that the purpose of art is to - -remind us how difficult it is to remain just one person, for our house is open, there are no keys in the doors, and invisible guests come in and out at will. - Cheryl Parry
