J.J. Garfinkel
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Williamsburg

Media:Painting;

ARTIST STATEMENT: My paintings reveal themselves like slow epiphanies, clipped moments, or suspended details. I am interested in creating a subtle sense of disorientation whereby the experience is open-ended, containing many points of entry - a way to give form to daydreaming. In current daily life, thoughts battle for our attention and few are given much consideration. To this end, I am engaged in exploring how painting can embrace this kind of real world uncertainty and simultaneity.
