ARTIST STATEMENT: I use video, installation, and street art to address social issues. Whether it’s multiple video monitors surrounding a room, street posters with feminist messages, or interactive performances with the pubic, I deliberately simplify issues such as gender and inequality by exaggerating the obvious. I find humor can be an effective method in the attempt to break down complex topics such as society’s arbitrary beauty standards and rape culture. And on the opposite end, showing the disturbing reality of these issues can make a bigger impact. With all my works, my goal is to influence as many people as possible and for us as a society to move beyond the status quo.
