ARTIST RESUME:

Artistic Spectrum Exhibit April 2007 - JCC New York, 334 Amsterdam Avenue, NY, NY, "Shadow Tag" B&W Photography 8"X10" framed

Winner of the Eco Fest Poster Art Contest 2014-
The winning artwork of 100 students, selected by famously renowned pop and poster Artist Peter Max, from schools across the city will be on exhibit through April 30 at the Apple Bank for Savings at West 73rd Street and Broadway, Manhattan. The entries of the finalists, students of 23 art teachers, were chosen from among the 500 works submitted for the annual Ecofest Environmental Art Competition sponsored by the UFT New York City Art Teachers Association in association with the West Side Cultural Center, which provided the awards certificates. Twenty-four of those 100, one of which belonged to Jasir B. Abdullah-Musa, were also selected as the competition’s finalists — and turned into a single, composite poster by renowned pop and poster Artist Peter Max, the contest’s 2014 “honorary artist,” that will be used to help promote Ecofest.

Posters in the exhibit touched on environmental concerns ranging from clean air and water to endangered species to alternative transportation and energy conservation. The artwork was judged in grade categories K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Jasir B. Abdullah-Musa and other young artists, accompanied by teachers and parents, were honored at a celebration at the bank on April 2, 2014.
