ARTIST STATEMENT: Being an artist allows me the freedom to express myself truthfully and directly in every aspect of my life. It gives my emotions, be they compassion, angst, wonder or happiness, a visual channel where I can converse with others. In the course of evolving into a digital artist, I have grown very fond of my Wacom tablet and am currently using Illustrator to develop my skills in that media. One of my favorite mediums which I work with on a daily basis is craypas on canvas but it all begins with the pencil. The concepts for any of my work always begin with the visceral emotion and a rough pencil sketch. From that point, I organize my materials and commence the work always allowing for inspiration to walk hand in hand with the purpose of the work. I love the feeling of creating something new and exploring all the intricacies the piece brings to life. To give a visual voice to the inner thoughts of my soul and simultaneously touch another . Whether the piece evokes my feelings or generates a completely adverse feeling in the viewer is of no consequence, it is the passage of the moment shared engaged in the art, from conception to exhibition that fulfills my love of being an artist. I enjoy learning and sharing new techniques with fellow artists. I truly believe in the growth of the artistic soul, through the exchange of ideas and technique.
