Randall Stoltzfus
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Dumbo

ARTIST STATEMENT: These paintings are built out of many, many hand-painted circular marks, which gradually resolve into landscape spaces. The light source is the subject, and the surfaces are rich with texture and optical range. I work in oil or acrylic dispersion. In either medium I spike the color with hand mixed saturated colors made from dry pigment, and sometimes use metal leaf or other special elements to expand the available palette.
