Neighborhood: Bedford-Stuyvesant

Media:Film/Video;

ARTIST STATEMENT: My films are about ways of looking and listening in the world. Their subject matter falls into two broad categories: natural light and its interaction with various materials; and the urban industrial landscape in states of opulent decay. I try to capture the visual and aural essence of a site, environment or milieu, shaping it through camera movement and traditional editing techniques such as fades and dissolves, into an aesthetic experience. I shoot on 16 mm film, eschew digital manipulation of image and sound in post-production, and give equal weight to both as components of the realized project.
