ARTIST STATEMENT: I utilize naturalism as a language to research and understand the micro-dinamics that are currently emerging from spaces between nature and culture in our contemporary ecosystems. Through virtual and real expeditions I collect, organize and classify data in an open way, getting away from scientific methods or historical approaches to nature. At the moment, I am constructing new topologies that work as living maps, allowing nature to operate without manipulation, in order to record current situations of specific ecosystems in determined moments. I like to call this open ended method "alternative ecology" or "relational ecologies".
I am currently an MFA candidate at Hunter College MFA Candidate and a student at the Bronx Botanical Garden.
