My studio practice is built upon on the understanding that everything is interconnected. Through title and nuance of process, both 2-D and 3-D work suggest real suggest real and metaphysical states of transformation, balance, and cause and effect, or the means by which we come to understand our connection to the world around us.
Based on natural forms and their growth patterns, my sculpture and surface designs embrace a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete, and the things that are by most standards too large, too small, or too fleeting to notice on a daily basis.
My site specific, and commissioned works are comprised of multiple units, and inspired by natural forms. These intricately detailed sculptural installations initially compel us to examine our contribution to the negative impact on the environment, and subversively, invite a quiet contemplation of chi, or the natural energy of the universe as things humble, modest, and unconventional are transformed to an elevated status.
