Martin O McCormack
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Bedford-Stuyvesant

Genre:Documentary;

ARTIST STATEMENT: I am an artist based in Brooklyn, New York. I was born in Liverpool, England and received my Batchelor of Arts Degree from the University of Ulster at Belfast. My practice often deals with two activities that consume a great deal of our time -work and leisure- their impact on modern humanity, the relative worth of both of these activities and their costs in terms of liberty and solvency; or as George Carlin once said, "what you'd do for $10 or what you'd do with $10." The Great New York City Mapping Project is created using take-out menu maps, informational brochures and other ephemera collected during a series of explorations around the city.
