ARTIST STATEMENT: Creating art is an ongoing conversation between the artist and the community, in which he presents his ideas, and emotional transgressions. I cultivate work from a spiritual realm, employing physical materials...fragile materials, attaching my inhibitions, contradictions and conflicts to each medium. Every medium chosen, helps the task of telling my anecdote of "survival" that much easier. The AfricaInAmerica series is the first collection projecting this concept, against the American "religion" of freedom. Does such freedom, create self-destruction or happiness, or is this the process in which one declares genius. I believe it is.
