My installation and sculpture is a recurring play from frenetic improvisation to contemplative slowdown. Unpredictably juxtaposing objects, materials, and colors, an odd structure is constructed, dynamically slashing all through the space. Some of these disparate found objects and ready-made materials have specific meanings for me; some have strong potential for sculpture; some I have no fixed or preconceived notions. Instead of narratively expressing myself, I work back and forth between familiarity and wilderness, initiating a repartee between the redefined and the denied. What I am interested in is the audiences¡¦ interaction with the newly configured materials in a wacky restructured space. My work provides a playground to turn on the synesthetic effect in humans' brain.
Moreover, I have always been fascinated by the relationship between humans and nature. The conflict of exposing tree limbs, plants, and natural materials to mass-production materials such as styrofoam intensely stimulates me. The flow of energy and the reincarnation of materials in my work conjure an unknown spiritual landscape where relishes the precarious interval of discovery. It is a party of materials to unearth a strong sense of subversive energy, ludic thinking, and renewal spirit. All in all the absurdity of divergent materials¡¦ cohabitation spurs the instinctive drive questioning the manipulated mainstream value and system while developing a private moment with objects and materials.
