ARTIST STATEMENT: Enhancing the lives of others through my artwork and sculptural design work has become one of the wonderful benefits of being a professional artist. When I operated my gallery/showroom I realized that I had come to be able to reach more of the public overall then ever before, not just the educated elite but the common man as well. This comes through accidental discovery of shapes and forms which touch upon the natural visual memory we all carry. Crossing the line between fine art and the design world has helped feed both areas of my creativity, and also helped me realize how reaching out to the public brings to my intellect another freedom that would not exist if I only created for the art world that bought and sold on the inside. I continue to search for the connection that brings the world together either by history or by the universal language of art that speaks to us all, whether one knows what one is looking at as an intellectual or is simply touched by it through resonation.
