ARTIST STATEMENT: This work is part of a new series and made of individually cast glass that I combine with various materials, found objects, wire and other hardware. In recent installations, such as Icons, Cones and Lures, I complete by adding hand written fragmented phrases, dirges and chants on the back walls, thus pairing the structural soundness of durable materials with more elusive and fragile elements, and transform the room into a juxtaposition of expectations. As a sculptor, I am engaged in the concept of the dislocation of time through creating a vocabulary of repetitive forms, translucency and light, and the overlapping elements that obsessively inform one another. As installation fractions or individual pieces, this work is at once translucent and dense, ephemeral and visceral, which builds and expands my themes of danger, desire, engagement and selective abandonment.
