ARTIST STATEMENT: Hello! I am an artist and community organizer engaged with public art, urban environmentalism and related social entrepreneurship. I design and manage large-scale, sight-specific murals. The design sensibility varies from project to project, reflecting the unique personality of each client and each environment.

ARTIST RESUME:EDUCATION UC Berkeley: [IN] City, Berkeley, CA (Summer 2011) College of Environmental Design six week intensive in planning for sustainable cities. Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY (2008) Bachelor of Science, Fine Arts Study Abroad: Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Madrid, Spain (Spring 2007) Full lingual and cultural immersion, all classes were taken in Spanish COMMUNITY ORGANIZING & PUBLIC ART Muralist (2012 - Present) NY Cares & I.S. 27, Staten Island, NY (October 2013 - Present). Design mural for three walls of a middle school auditorium. Develop implementation strategy and lead installation of design over five weekends with the help of student and community volunteers. Gowanus Canal Conservancy, HuntingtonStreet, Brooklyn, NY (May 2013 – September 2013). Designed, organized and led community mural painting project. Proposed project to and partnered with the Gowanus Canal Conservancy and 50 volunteers to paint 320 foot long mural in Carroll Gardens. Prepped wall with outline of design and applied a paint by numbers method to execute entire painting of wall in an afternoon. Fundraised $3,200 as well as solicited donated supplies from Home Depot and Build It Green!NYC. Sing for Hope, New York, NY (Spring 2013). One of 88 artists selected to paint my proposed design on a piano as part of a citywide interactive performance art project. Piano was stationed on the Bronx waterfront for 2 weeks open to the public to play and then donated to a school. Vanguard Music Studio, Denville, NJ (January 2013). Worked with school directors to conceptualize mural for children’s music school. Designed and installed 18’ x 9’ mural. Volunteer Coordinator, The Gowanus Canal Conservancy, (July 2012 – Present). Assist in planning of monthly environmental stewardship volunteer days. Organize and manage volunteers at monthly "Clean and Green" events and at composting events in partnership with GrowNYC. Maintain community nursery, compost and street trees. Construct related field equipment (e.g., sifting table for compost and gardening beds). Licensed Citizen Pruner. Certified to prune trees owned by the City of New York through December 2017. OTHER DESIGN RELATED EXPERIENCE Studio Assistant, Craig Hofheimer, Inc., New York, NY (Sep 2011—Present). Responsible for drawing architectural plans for residential renovations using hand drafting and Vectorworks. Conduct on site survey of existing space needed in design preparation. Maintain business relationships with local and national suppliers and city agencies (e.g., Department of Buildings, Landmarks Preservation Committee). Responsible for accounting and invoicing clients. Designer & Fabricator, Build It Green!NYC, (September 2012). Created storefront signage out of recycled and restored antique door for Build It Green!NYC, a nonprofit reuse and recycled building materials store. Designed promotional materials using the Adobe Creative Suite (eg. t-shirt designs and flyers). Developed planning and policy intervention to revitalize communities through the use of vacant lots in accordance with the goals of Berkeley’s Climate Action Plan and California Senate Bill 375. Used the Adobe Creative Suite and GIS mapping program to create visual analysis (i.e. land-use and zoning maps, framework diagram, demographic profile charts). Presented plan to a jury of 40 city employees, including the City of Berkeley and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
