ARTIST STATEMENT: I have been drawing since kindergarten. In my later years I was seduced by color and began to paint. I started out creating abstracts, but found that working within the classic painting genres greatly improved my technical reach and provided invaluable lessons in the practice of painting. My current style evolved by mingling my abstract leanings with my representational work and then applied what I learned there back onto my abstract work. The way color represents light is key to both and bears much of the painting's emotional weight.
My work allows me to explore the human condition and this thing we call life. I believe the definition of an artist is to render the mundane sublime for "God is in the details".
