Kate Elliot
Brooklyn NY, NY
Neighborhood: Bushwick

ARTIST STATEMENT: I make objects that express the wry, perverse and
beautiful moments I encounter in life. By investigating new ways to see space and
material I hope to illuminate the complexity of my experience. Growing up in Manhattan and living in the city, I
came to question how we inhabit and form relationships to our
surroundings and how the materials of the built environment and the natural world inscribe our sensibilities. I incorporate domestic and industrial debris of a consumer-driven culture with hand formed objects creating a continual process of production, response, and use.
