Diana Gilon
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Dumbo

ARTIST STATEMENT: In my life art is fluid and I weave between roles as a teacher, facilitator, activist, muralist and painter. I am a community builder, sometimes leader but often just a stage or a microphone for the unheard to share their wisdom. I have an audience, but more importantly I have participants. My crowd sourced projects teach the public a new language and open doors to the misled. I don't adhere to the belief that all great art must be bombastic. Sometimes I whisper, but just loud enough that the right people hear me calling. I listen before I speak, but I'm not afraid to demand when necessary. I don't apologize for being multifaceted, rather i am proud to be accessible. I transform and evolve to engage a diverse world.
