After years of manipulating lines, colors and the alphabet with the use of spray cans and markers, I have arrived at a pivotal point in my career. While developing sketches of abstract letter forms and color variations, these exercises in style gradually began focusing more on specific moments and areas of my graffiti blue prints. The visual shift has allowed me to realize the possibilities of how the essence of graffiti can be presented. My current collages and drawings have abandoned my graffiti Nom de Plume, yet still remain true to the original style and complexity. I deconstruct the energy of wild style graffiti lettering, and build upon the color palettes that have adorned the New York City walls and subways cars as inspiration. These works borrow from traditional graffiti ascetics combined with the precise design elements of contemporary abstract painting.
