Julia Whitney Barnes
Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Williamsburg

ARTIST STATEMENT: I am a multidisciplinary artist that makes indoor and outdoor work related to the natural world. I am influenced by ecological practices and the complex relationship humans have with the environment. My current series "Bricks & Stones May Break," takes form in paintings, drawings, etchings and porcelain reliefs. My travels combined with imagined places inform these intimate landscapes. The scale of the work is meant for solitary viewing and encourages contemplation.
