Brooklyn, NY
Neighborhood: Boerum Hill

Media:Painting;
Genre:Abstract;

ARTIST STATEMENT: My latest work comes from the concept of Linear Geometric Abstraction. It is the culmination of many artistic disciplines leading to pure form and color. I tend to work in series which give a unified feeling to the paintings and therefore it is difficult for me to give a painting a title. They have to speak to me otherwise I describe them by the colors and or numbers. I feel That my images are unique. They are based on two sets of six overlapping lines that are converted to wedges and colored accordingly. I tend to use primary and complimentary colors within a composition. I consider my paintings a marriage of the forms, combining and mixing canvases or leaving them as single compositions . My tendency is to describe them as sculptural in feeling , not as two-dimensional. I prefer transparency to opaqueness although I am not adverse to reworking an image. I prefer them to be straight forward, also a progression. One leading to another. The end is never in sight.
