ARTIST STATEMENT: I am not comfortable making a statement about what my art is or what it is or isn’t doing. This would put my experience making the work in a predetermined corner and if I knew all the answers then there would be nothing for me to discover. It would be the equivalent of reading the last page of a book first. Having a determined end result that makes a formal claim would be the death of my practice. That being said – there does tend to be some recurring subjects and themes I work with. I can list these as: history, science, survival, people, nearly extinct animals and plants, archaic technology, ancient jars and bowls… I am sure there is a bunch of others, but I can’t think of them off the top of my head.
