ARTIST STATEMENT: Daily observations, explorations, and extensive travel continue to inform, influence and transform my efforts and artistic expression. My drawings and mixed media artworks on paper emphasize, yet are not limited to, the aesthetics of organic and non-organic forms. The complexity and simplicity of charcoal, paint, pastels, and paper have seduced me. The works of Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell, Richard Diebenkorn, and countless others, engage me in an ongoing dialogue, as I too embrace and reject conventions of beauty. While I consider notions of balance and imbalance, space and constraints, harmony and discord, I encourage you to engage in your own unique dialogue with my work. I was born and presently reside in Brooklyn, New York.
