Daniel Sinclair
long island cit, NY
Neighborhood: East New York

Media:Sculptural; Metal;
Genre:Abstract;

ARTIST STATEMENT: The many layered content of abstract work has been fascinating artists and public in the same time. To explore new ways of handling a medium it has become essential to my work. The process is as important as the final result and maybe sometimes even more, since it allows a personal connection with each piece. My inspiration resides in the line of the human body, of biomorphic shapes as well in the art of the greats, such as Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele. My medium is metal, mainly steel tools, that are being transformed into new meaningful and expressive shapes, reflecting a metaphoric personal lexicon developed over the years and being deeply influenced by my blacksmithing training in Italy.
