ARTIST STATEMENT: Artist Statement

My work addresses the role of Nature and the Cosmos from a Female perspective. In my recent exhibit, “Manahatta Today” I have a series of canvases that represent the beauty of a Taina Woman in harmony with technology, spirituality and environmental issues.

I combined the Indigenous emotional perspective and Mother Nature in “Elements and Emotions”. My successful solo series of installations that incorporated painted canvases reflecting the forces of nature with photographs of Native American Culture.

I work with found items, oils, acrylics and pastels mainly on canvas. Working on several diverse projects concurrently, allows the various forms of Art to cross pollinate and inspire a new piece. Whether it is with my paintbrush or my camera, I express my style but always allow the creative force, the “nature” of the work to guide me.
