Website: www.catherinewillett.com ARTIST STATEMENT: CATHERINE WILLETT is a Brooklyn-based artist. From Buffalo, NY, she received her BFA from the University at Buffalo in 2011 with a minor in Art History and also studied at the Scuola Lorenzo de’Medici in Florence, Italy, in 2009. Her awards include four Morrison Scholarships, and an Alan E. Cober Memorial Drawing Scholarship from UB. Her drawings have been exhibited in solo exhibitions at several venues including Studio Hart and Ró Home Shop, and in group exhibitions at the Ukrainian Cultural Center, Big Orbit Gallery, and Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. She was also recently included in an artist exchange exhibition that was presented at The Brew House Association in Pittsburgh, PA, and OKTP, a group exhibition at Modern Eden Gallery in San Francisco as part of Southern Graphics Conference International 2014. She completed a site-specific mural at Canalside, Buffalo in Summer 2014 as part of echo: Art Fair. Her illustration work has been recognized by The Wall Street Journal, Buffalo Magazine, The Interior Project and Paste Magazine.
