Neighborhood: Crown Heights

ARTIST STATEMENT: Standing in my kitchen, I hear the refrigerator hum as it slows the rate of decay of its contents. The pungent bananas on the table are ripening at such a rate that they’ll turn before the day is through. I am concerned with the way all things living and inert are in a constant state of motion. My recent drawings depict interiors with elements such as kitchen tabletops, floorboards, and braided rugs. The objects I make are fixed in physical space by their weight, solidity, and know-ability. My outdoor sculptures inevitably become transformed by the elements or civic interaction.
