New York, NY
Neighborhood: Clinton Hill

ARTIST STATEMENT: My practice is focused on the ideology that artistic process can parallel human behavioral patterns and that the act of creating and viewing art may teach one about themselves and others. I am particularly interested in how material play in my work can heighten the viewer’s perception and activate their imagination. I work on multiple projects at once. Routinely changing my focus facilitates new perspectives allowing the work to constantly evolve. I work in the mediums of sculpture, installation, photography, film, and print making with the themes of ephemerality, optical illusion, invisibility and performance surfacing in each project. Pairing these processes and these concepts creates a continuous conversation that discusses universal aspects of human psychology that each individual confronts differently. Within this conversation, I address the idea that reality is an individualized truth. My work and my practice are about the psychological space where fantasy and reality meet. Where dreams fog the conscious mind and we are no longer certain of what is real and what is a figment of our imagination.
