ARTIST STATEMENT: I create my abstract paintings in a meditative state, in immediacy and spontaneity. Sometimes visualizing an image and transferring it directly to the canvas without calculation or editing. I take compositional, color and spacial elements into considerations, but I do it through an intuitive, rather then intellectual process. I usually work in large format, also because part of my process incorporates physical, broad, whole body movements rather than mostly hand – arm – eye focused activity. This to me signifies and actualizes the process of integrating body, mind, spirit and emotions through my art. Some paintings are created and completed during one or two sessions, while others are processed and developed over weeks or even months. My intention is for the viewer to enter and share my experience through seeing my art.

The mixed-media sculptures are part of my 'Disposition' project. In it I use recycled materials to explore our part, as humans, in affecting the planet, nature and the environment. The project highlights our use of 'disposable' plastic, symbolizing the attitude we have to our resources as being easily replaceable, while in fact we only have one planet which, if we destroy its habitat, we will have nowhere else to go. I incorporated the ancient tradition of Ho'oponopono as well as myths, poems, and scientific and statistical findings, to illustrate in an immersive way, the critical situation we are currently living in and the urgent need for us to take responsibility of our reality .
