ARTIST STATEMENT: I am inspired by the diversity and balances of forms found in nature and how they manifest and synthesize in the spaces of our every-day live and our society. Through my work, I create moments which express this interaction and enjoy the contrast created when mixing the figurative with geometric and abstract forms. I often use the portrait as a direct means of communicating emotionally and even physically to a wide range of viewers. Offering them a moment to connect face to face sometimes unexpectedly. I have lived primarily in urban environments and enjoy incorporating nature and a human touch as an opportunity to connect, interpret and learn from the act and outcome of creating.
