ARTIST STATEMENT: I utilize digital media as my primary medium to illustrate certain concepts that reappear throughout my art practice. I create computer-generated imagery often in combination with immersive installations as well as digital fabricated sculpture, video and photography to explore how digital technology affects and transforms our conceptions of memory and identity personally and collectively.
My recent work consists of ongoing research into the relationship between myself and others within the physical and digital realms. This creates a sense of existence which informs examinations into contemporary culture, where reality and virtual space have begun to overlap.
I am also interested in computer-generated imagery that makes the boundaries between the real and the virtual less distinct. Computer simulations are a reinterpretation of the real world and a replica whose origin is often obscure. By examining the dissemination of this imagery into our daily lives, I highlight the constructed nature of time, perception, identity and the body.
