ARTIST STATEMENT: I am a photographer, an English émigré with Caribbean heritage based in Brooklyn, New York. I document the arts, culture and the politics of the communities of the African diaspora. With hopes of inspiring future artists and leaders, I capture documentation for historical reference to tell our story... to initiate conversations...to inspire and provoke imaginations to write a novel, poem or an essay.

EVENTS:

THIS BE US

June-21-2018 – August-24-2018

The exhibition “This Be Us” takes a look at the culture, from which the photographer Marcia Wilson comes from, and a celebration of the way we get through this life, from the young boys stare at the pool table, to the stylish ladies celebrating sisterhood down a city sidewalk.
“This Be Us” recognizes that regardless of the path we have taken, our lives are woven with love, tradition, resilience and pride.
