ARTIST STATEMENT: Without any formal art training, because of my testing positive for HIV I attended and AIDS day program, there was art therapy. My art come through a seemingly unconscious state of creativity. I can feel the energy the spirit the light from God as these unplanned sculptures and pictures created to and through times in my life and the emotions I felt, I feel as I create with no expectation. In the beginning of this new way of expression, many art pieces come from a place within where painful memories were buried. Memories I could not face, were reveiled through this healing power of art. This feeling of comfort that would come after it was revealed to me what it represented. My art is testimonial art it explored not only the pain of my past and the victories in my present life. From Pain To Peace.
