I was born in New York where I have lived most of my life, but it is Haiti I call home. My earliest memories are of Haiti where I lived with my grandmother and other family until I was seven. It is where my first impressions were made. In Haiti art is prevalent in everything, as it is to me.
My work is simply a celebration of my Haitian upbringing and roots. I am constantly inspired by my family, my food, my folk songs and tales, my drums, my dances and most of all, by the strength and spirit of my ancestors.
I am a dancer, singer of Haitian folk songs, teaching artist, and visual artist. I have recently completed illustrating my adaptation of a Haitian folktale for a children's book and searching for a publisher.
