ARTIST STATEMENT: My work utilizes raw organic textures superimposed by hard, sometimes solid-lined objects to create visceral abstract forms. Generally, I do not have a final rendering in mind when I start painting, but seek to capture an intuitive and primal process. Stacking several hidden layers, each piece morphs through multiple incarnations before I decide it is complete. I intend to create visual compositions that both appeal to my aesthetic tastes and that I have also never before seen. It is my desire to elicit a similar feeling in viewers transporting them to an intricate world of shapes, colors and implicit sounds.
