Syan Rose
BROOKLYN, NY

ARTIST STATEMENT: My comix are at times journalistic and at times autobiographical, and I believe they inform each other heavily. In my comix interviews and third-person political writing, I engage social movements and collaborate with activists and change-makers who lead the fights against misogyny, queer and transphobia, racism, fatphobia, colonization, ableism, etc; and in my personal writing I intend to work through own marginalized as well as privileged experiences to vision frameworks on interpersonal accountability and internalized healing.
