Kirk Maynard
Orange, NJ

ARTIST STATEMENT: My artistic practice focuses on social, political and cultural issues. Often referencing American social history, my work explores the intersection between politics and fine art. My work engages in discourse surrounding issues as diverse as housing discrimination, food deserts, and climate change. As a mixed media artist, I use a variety of materials to create sustained visual repetition in my work, while regularly using juxtaposition to highlight different social justice themes on a created picture plane.
