Allen T Ball
BROOKLYN, NY

Media:Assemblage;

ARTIST STATEMENT: Ghost towns, defunct phosphate mines, and remote hunting camps within cultivated pine forests of North Central Florida changed my worldview. Such immersion into an ecologically diverse and irrevocably damaged environment is crucial in my development as an artist. I use materials such as dirt, clay, charcoal, ash, and found objects because they are materials which embody difficult relationships with the earth and humanity. I present paintings, sculpture, video, and installations which are focused on non-agricultural human contact with the land.
