Allen T Ball
BROOKLYN, NY
Neighborhood: Clinton Hill

ARTIST STATEMENT: Much of my work references re-discovered cave painting and primal marks focused on non-agricultural human contact with the land as an exploration of speculative futures. I use materials such as dirt, clay, charcoal, ash, and decayed contemporary found objects which embody the destruction inflicted on our planet as evidence mounts of our unpropitious future, and our climate shifts further away from a habitable zone. Allen’s work considers humankind's relation to the land and its future habitability. Using primal marks and materials such as dirt, clay, oil and ash, his work is suggestive of cave painting and neolithic embodiment.
